This is a tool for the ages. Constructed here in Maine by Garland Tool Manufacturer of Saco, the faces of this mallet are made of Garland's own Gar-Dur ultra-high-molecular-weight plastic. This nonporous material won't mar and is easy to clean.
The large nut at the base of the head actually unscrews and the head splits allowing you to swap out the faces. Six face types are available: rawhide, copper, urethane, nylon, Gar-Dur plastic and BASA. And these different faces are used for a myriad of projects from installing and removing refractory bricks to assembling timber frame structures and much, much more.
The quality, craftmanship and heft of this hammer make it the type of tool that you can pass on to your grandchildren. We carry all of the interchangeable heads -- if you don't see the size or material you need here on our website, give us a call at 207-442-7938.
